Kazakh diplomat met with Saudi Arabian Crown Prince in Jeddah

ASTANA. July 11, 2006. KAZINFORM – On July 8 Kazakh Ambassador Askar Mussinov met with Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Aviation, Inspector General of Saudi Arabia Sultan bin Abdul Aziz in the context of completion of his diplomatic mission in Jeddah city; Kazinform refers to press service of Kazakh Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Kazakh diplomat thanked the Government of Saudi Arabia for the support during the time of his activity and conveyed good wishes of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to the King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz and people of the country.

There was noted that development of bilateral relations with Muslim countries and states of Arab East was a priority direction of Kazakh foreign policy. Basis of Kazakhstan’s cooperation with Saudi Arabia were results of official visits at high level that have taken place since the beginning of diplomatic relations between two countries.

A. Mussinov emphasized identity of approaches of two states towards main international problems and stated that Kazakhstan supported initiative of the King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz on convocation of international conference on struggle against terrorism and proposal on creation of international antiterrorist center.

He also expressed appreciation to the Kingdom’s authorities for the support of Kazakh Leader’s initiative on convocation of CICMA summit.

There was emphasized that important mechanism of development of bilateral interaction was Kazakh-Saudi Arabian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian and scientific-technical cooperation.

Business Council of businessmen of two countries, established following the results of Kazakh President’s visit to Saudi Arabia in 2004, became a significant element in trade and economic cooperation. It is expected that the third sitting of the council will take place in Astana city in 2006.

Kazakh Ambassador noted fruitful collaboration with Saudi Arabian Fund of Development that participated in realization of a number of investment projects in Kazakhstan.

At the meeting Kazakhstan’s representative informed of successful implementation of the President’s initiative on convocation and carrying out of the Congress of World Religions.

ASTANA. May 30, 2006. KAZINFORM. Today Kazakhstan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Askar Musinov has held talks with the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom H.R.H. Prince Saud al-Feisal, Kazakhstan MFA’s press service informs.

The parties shared views on state and bilateral relations prospects, noted high level of states’ cooperation in all spheres, and dialogue mainstreaming between the heads of Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.

As stated there, Nursultan Nazarbayev’s official visit to the Kingdom March 2004 became a major landmark in the history of bilateral ties and gave an impetus to further strengthening of interaction in trade and economic, investment and other fields.

Kazakh Ambassador told bout the fulfillment of President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s initiatives on convocation of Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICMA), as an important element in promoting stability and security in Asia. Number of CICMA member states keeps on growing.

II CICMA Summit is called to confirm readiness of its countries to counteract terrorism, separatism, and extremism, proliferation of mass destruction weapons, drug trafficking, posing threat to peaceful co-existence and safety in Asia and the worldwide as well.

KAZAKH-QATARI DOUBLE TAXATION AGREEMENT TO BE REACHED SOON

First Round of Kazakh-Qatari Experts meeting was held in Doha during April 3-6, 2006.

Kazakh delegation was headed by the Deputy Director of Analytical Department of the Ministry of Finance Mr. Nurlan Baizhenov and Qatari delegation was headed by the Director of Public Revenues and Taxation Department of the Ministry of Finance Mr. Moftah Jassim Moftah.

Finally, the Minutes of Meeting was signed were experts agreed that since the major part of the Draft was approved and confirmed further consultations will be made either through the diplomatic channels or during the upcoming Kazakh-Qatari Intergovernmental Commission.


KAZAKH AMBASSADOR MEETS CHAIRMAN OF THE SAUDI HIGHER COMMISSION FOR TOURISM

Riyadh. March 27, 2006 - Embassy
On March 27, 2006 in Riyadh Ambassador Askar Mussinov met HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman Al Saud, the Chairman of the Higher Commission for Development of Tourism of Saudi Arabia.

They discussed the ways of development of cooperation in various tourism related spheres as well as the prospective of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia in space exploration field.


“KAZAKH’S CULTURE DAYS” TO BE HELD THIS YEAR IN SAUDI ARABIA

Riyadh. March 27, 2006 - Embassy
On March 27, 2006 in Riyadh Ambassador Askar Mussinov met with Vice-Minister of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Ways of development of cooperation in cultural sphere as well as possibility of holding the “Kazakh’s Culture Days” in Saudi Arabia this year were discussed during the meeting.


KAZAKH AMBASSADOR MEETS WML SECRETARY GENERAL

Makkah. March 26, 2006 - Embassy
On March 26, 2006 in Makkah Ambassador Askar Mussinov was received by the Mr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsin Al-Turki, Secretary General of the World Muslim League.

They discussed the participation of representatives of this respected Islamic organization in Second Congress of World and Traditional Religious Leaders to be held in Kazakhstan at the end of this year.

Secretary General confirmed his participation in Congress as well as the participation of his representatives during the preparatory meetings.


AMBASSADOR A.MUSSINOV VISITED DOHA, QATAR

Doha. March 8, 2006 - Embassy
On March 8, 2006 in Doha Mr. Askar Mussinov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan met Mr. Saif Mukaddam Al-Buainain, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

They discussed the ways of development of the bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Qatar, in particular, in the light of the upcoming visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev to Qatar. Also the regular Intergovernmental Commission’s Meeting and related questions were discussed.


KAZAKHSTAN PROPOSES TO UAE PARTICIPATION IN PETROCHEMICAL CONSTRUCTION

Abu Dhabi. February 17, 2006 KZ TODAY
Delegation headed by Karim Massimov, Vice Prime Minister of RK, has visited the United Arab Emirates February 15-16 on order from Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Today reports citing the presidential press service.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss a number of issues related with mutually beneficial co-operation and a concrete Action Plan for different areas.

At the negotiations in Abu-Dhabi the sites noted big prospects for co-operation on development of bauxite fields including constitution of aluminium and alumina factories. The Emirates were especially interested in participation in the construction of a new petrochemical complex in West Kazakhstan.

Besides, co-operation in pharmaceutics and medicine was discussed either. In particular, it is joint construction of the National Cardiosurgery Centre in Astana, co-financing of a pilot project on introduction of international standards on the basis of the National Scientific Maternity and Childhood Centre. Co-operation in transport and communications, in particular, opening of air traffic between the UAE and Kazakhstan.

The Kazakhstani delegation has expressed interest in realising the full potential of co-operation in the construction of a scientific educational centre "Bilim ordasy" in Astana following the example of the "Knowledge village" in the UAE.

The UAE investors in their turn expressed an interest in the project of constructing "Burj al-Emirate" building in Astana that will include a hotel, a mall, and a business centre.

The Kazakhstan-UAE Action Plan was signed February in the presence of heads of both states February 16. The inclusion of concrete projects in different areas into it confirmed a high degree of mutual interest in developing bilateral relations.


KAZAKH AMBASSADOR HOSTED DINNER TO FAREWELL AMBASSADOR OF AZERBAIJAN

On February 12, 2006 Ambassador of Kazakhstan Mr. Askar Mussinov hosted dinner to farewell the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elman Arasli at his residence.

Heads of missions accredited in Riyadh, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Saudi business circles were invited.



AMBASSADOR OF KAZAKHSTAN MET RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR

Newly arrived Victor Kudryavtsev, Ambassador of Russian Federation made a courtesy call to the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan on January 23, 2005.

During the meeting with Askar Mussinov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan they discussed the ways of enhancing cooperation between the Missions.



KAZAKH DELEGATION VISITED KUWAIT TO EXPRESS CONDOLENCES OVER DEMISE OF AMIR OF KUWAIT

Kuwait city, January 17, 2006 - Embassy
Kazakh delegation including the Special Envoy of the President of Kazakhstan, Ambassador at Large Mr. Erik Utembayev and Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Riyadh Mr. Askar Mussinov visited Kuwait to express condolences over the demise of Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah on January 17, 2005.

Delegation expressed condolences and conveyed the letter of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr.Nursultan Nazarbayev to the Prime-minister of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah.



MORE THAN 1700 PILGRIMS FROM KAZAKHSTAN PERFORMED HAJJ

Mekkah, January 13, 2006 - Embassy
13 official groups of pilgrims from Kazakhstan successfully performed Hajj this year. Number of pilgrims in these groups totaled 1724 people.

No Kazakh pilgrims were injured in Jamarat stampede on January 12, 2006. All them has returned to Kazakhstan safe.
